Non-Linear Video Editing Projects

"The Challenge" We provide a sample video. You show us what you can do with it! "Required" items "must be done" to compete. "Extras" are suggestions. In addition to other modifications you make, the extras will definitely improve your standing. See the details and find out how to compete with this project go here.

General Details for all projects:

Even if you don't think your very good or perhaps your skills are limited, you should still take up the challenge and do what you can, and submit your work. Consider it practice toward meeting the challenges thrown down by employers and potential employers. Competing in this industry is a daily event and something you'll be doing for the rest of your career. You've got to make a name for yourself and make people remember you.

For all these projects, keep in mind, the funnier, the more people will remember, the more you will command the audience's attention!

Projects are compared primarily within their own category, whether:
a) Student
b) Teacher
c) Amateur
d) Professional

Those who place will all receive recognition, and a place for their resume, bio, curriculum vitae, or a place to put an advertisement to sell themselves. The winner in each category will receive "bragging rights!"

Submissions must be:

1. on CD. If you can't fit it on a CD, your video is not properly compressed for the internet...
2. Pay close attention to the "required elements" for each project.
3. Sign your TOC and mail it with your project.
4. State up front which "required elements" and which "extra elements" you accomplished, just "as if you were reporting to someone who contracted your services for a job."

Do to the time required to view, evaluate, re-view, and compare submissions, not to mention the numbers of people who will submit 30 second videos which will not compete, we have no choice but to filter those who are serious from those who are not by charging a submission fee. We will not open or view a submission which does not come with the proper check, money order, or previously completed the online fee (coming soon). This fee is grossly inadequate for covering the true cost of judging, evaluating, and providing useful critic information. Hopefully it will cover our bureaucracy, paper work, and awards. This fee is not a profit generating device! With this entire site, our intention is to only generate a profit margin through online advertising. All other revenew sources are designed to break us even, including this fee.

Mail your submission to the following address with submission fee:

Special Notice: You can submit your work for "The Challenge" and compete. However, we can not display your work on RaintreeTV until you complete the Terms of Contribution (TOC) here. Without completing the TOC we can't give you proper recognition for your work, you can't effectively advertise yourself or your skills, and you can't get much from bragging rights if no one ever sees your work.
